Default Early Restoration build that I absolutely love.

I made my Ritualist/Ranger since I wanted to try something different. Early on I didn't think I was going to like it. I used a longbow with a mix of channeling, marksmanship, and communing. Which was ok and all but then I went full Rit Restoration and haven't changed much since. I love it. I just got back into Guild Wars so I'm not really far into any three campaigns. (I have all but EotN)

I didn't think I'd like healing so much, but with this build it's really enjoyable. (even more so than my Monk) I'd like some comments on it, because so far it's working really well and I really like it.

[build prof=Rt name="Aska Rt Restoration" rest=12+1 spawning=12+1 box][MBaS][weapon of warding][spirit light][recuperation][feast of souls][life][boon of creation][FoMF][/build]

I keep Life and Boon of Creation up pretty much 24/7. Recuperation if I think I'll need to spam heals too much. I use Weapon of Warding on any melees I think will be taking a lot of punishment. MBaS and Spirit Light are self-explanatory as my two heals.

It might be kind of standard, I guess, but it's a really enjoyable build to play.

I'm not a big fan of Recuperation. The giant energy cost for only +3 regen seems silly to me. Unless you are using it to keep minions alive? Or coordinate with another party for some of the double group missions in Factions.

You could drop Recupe and Feast of Souls, add in [soothing memories] and [protective was kaolai]. Or [spirit transfer] for another big heal. Maybe [vengeful weapon] and [wielders remedy]?

Actually, why not [wielder's remedy][vengeful weapon] and [wielder's zeal] or [weapon of remedy]?

isnt no elite kinda fail?

as for suggestions, ya. do the WoR insted of vengful for the elite like other poster said.

I've found that the first few elites you find in Cantha tend to suck. [[Spirit Channeling] is in Spawning Power, and [[Weapon of Quickening] is Communing, and seeing as though channeling/restoration is usually the way to go, you may as well just not use them at all. It's better to wait until you get to NF for something like [[Weapon of Remedy] or [[Offering of Spirit].

I'm not into restoration. I know it's debated to be better then a monk, but honestly...Just make a monk if you want to heal.
Just my opinion though

I know what you mean Rosa, but I don't have any fun healing as a monk. As my ritualist it's enjoyable. Don't ask why.

Thanks for the suggestions, I really only have Recuperation out so in the back of my mind I know Feast of Souls will do a lot of healing. (destroying both Recupe and Life, and Life dying which heals) Sort of a safety thing. I'm not quite far enough into any of the campaigns to say this is my final build, so I'll put some of what you said into thought once I get farther.

Although restoration magic and Healing Prayers are comparable, red-bars-go-up characters are pretty shit.

Monks have prots, so they're better at keeping people alive.

Rits have better energy management, better party heals, and the ability to support offense and defense in the same bar (besides boonsmite <3), which makes them better support chars, but if your group doesn't have sufficient monks, Rits are the second best replacement. (ER, i'm looking at you )

One can't really compare healing power, as whatever outcome is pretty much moot.

There's not much point in running a pure resto rit over a monk if you don't take advantage of your superior energy management or your ability to carry offensive support.

I suggest replacing [[boon of creation] with [[Attuned Was Songkai] makes [[recuperation] much less expensive and works on other spells, only down side is the upkeep of it, and the weapons bonus.

That's why I use [boon of creation], I can keep it on me 24/7, which makes it really easy to spam [life] and still have energy to heal.

Boon of Creation isn't useful if you only have two spirits on your bar. Especially with the long recharge of Recup.

Bringing spirits also means you're spending too much time setting up your spirits at the beginning of a fight.

One spirit is enough.

you'll be better off once you get an elite. Attuned was Songkai can be captured pretty early in the Echovald Forest so you shouldnt have a problem with it.
you can drop recupation, Life is a good enough spirit to fuel your resto skills and it actually does something useful when it dies.
every half decent Rit already learned to add Splinter Weapon+Ancestor's Rage on its bar, you could too...

but overall it's a decent build for early stage when no good elites are available...

In 45 seconds, you'll at best cast life twice and recuperation once. That's a net savings of 5 energy every 45 seconds, or .11 energy/second. Pretty much anything will give you more than that.

that's why I suggest [[attuned was songkai], will give you a lot more energy.
Even without having it 24/7.

I don't see a problem with 2 spirit's unlike the rest, it will really lower pressure .
Although I'm not a fan of spirit destruction spells, But thy do work.

Pure restoration is weak vs monk heals, the power of restoration is that you only need 12 rest to rest heal well where a monk needs 12 heal and high divine favor and their elite. Should just drop the spawning power for 12 channeling and [Splinter Weapon] along with taking [Offering of Spirit] when you get it for huge energy.

This is about a pure resto build not standard hybrid build.
Ritualist can heal just as well as a monk, they just don't protect.
